Happy (Almost) Halloween

Halloween has always been one of my most favorite holiday celebrations. I was the one who always wanted to win the costume contests – and usually did, but spent WAY more time and money than the prize was worth. Now that I’m a Mom to a little one, it’s even more fun. This year we’re doing Little Red Riding Hood and I get to be the Grandma, which I’m totally excited for. Why, you ask? Well, I get to wear a nightgown and slippers, of course!

In addition we love to decorate our home and Halloween printables are the (easiest and cheapest) things you can use to decorate on a budget. You simply print them out, put them in a frame and you have super cute (and creepy) Halloween decor just like that!

So, for those of you that follow me and Splendid Street Press, you will know that I offer very affordable instant download Halloween Printables in my shop; however, since Halloween is just days away – and I am in the process of launching my 2016 Holiday Collection, and I wanted to spread my Halloween excitement by offering all of my Halloween printables to you, for free – because I love and adore my customers and fans.

Here’s what you’ll get:

Free Halloween Printables

Here’s the link to download the files: http://bit.ly/2eKmf9X Please note, it is a compressed folder and you will need something to unzip the folder and extract the files. Please let me know if you have any questions at all. I would be glad to help!

Stay tuned, as I will be offering more fun freebies and extras in the coming weeks. To make sure you don’t miss a thing, you can subscribe to my newsletter where you’ll be notified of new releases first and will get really awesome subscriber-only discounts, freebies and more.

Happy (almost) Halloween!

Halloween – Custom Halloween Invitations, Costumes and Parties – Oh my!

As of this post, there are 46 more days until Halloween. I’m just putting that out there, mostly for myself as I have a lot to do before it arrives. Also why I installed a Halloween Countdown Widget to my blog =>
My threenager recently changed schools. I have decided to spend more time with her and am only sending her to preschool for a few hours a week (which means working during those few hours, nap time and at night). Because she moved schools, she is desperately (well probably not desperately) missing her friends – so I had a Super Mommy moment and decided I would throw a Halloween party and invite her old and new friends. I’ve already put out feelers letting everyone know the tentative date and time – and almost everyone has said they are excited – and coming! Eek. This means aside from everything else that goes along with throwing a party, we need to decide on costumes…My daughter has already changed her mind, like a typical girl, I suppose. Here are all of the ones she’s wanted to be so far this year: skeleton, fairy, princess, Frankenstein and now a monster. She’s pretty set on me being a witch (wonder if there’s a subliminal message there) and she wants Daddy to be either a pirate (Captain Hook to be exact) or a wolf.

So, I create invitations, obviously – and I’ve created adult Halloween invitations, a Halloween birthday invitation and quite a few Halloween printables, but have yet to create the one I need – a not so scary kid’s Halloween invitation! I have a big project I’m working on so, I’m hoping to fit it in tomorrow’s to-do’s.

It’s amazing how I instantly find time to create things for my clients – but tend to procrastinate so terribly when it’s for me. My husband recently bought me a book on time management, but I’ve yet to read it (see the irony?). So, if you’re looking for a custom kid’s Halloween invitation, please submit your order – so I will be sure to create it now, vs. tomorrow 🙂

Well, at least I’ve got some Halloween printables done – although, keep your eye out for lots more. I tend to go overboard when I throw a party! Best thing about instant download printables, they’re a procrastinator’s dream. You can print them the day of the party, if you need to 😉

Top 100 Pet Names (Terms of Endearment) for Babies

top 100 pet names or nicknames for baby

You may have been one of the _____ (lucky, unfortunate) ones to have been given a pet name (or nickname) at an early age. Perhaps it stuck, or it may be a distant memory.

Me? I never had a nickname or a pet name growing up. My name, Erika, is not very nickname friendly and my parents weren’t the pet-name-giving types. I felt pretty neglected when I got older, hanging around with all of my cool, nick-name bearing circle of friends, so I worked with them to try and come up with something clever. I think “Ka” may have lasted for a few months, but never really stuck and so I had to wait until I got married to get my own term of endearment. In case you’re curious….I’m now known as Rama (short for Babe-o-Rama) by my husband. I think I came up with it and we both call each other Rama now – have for years. I like it and it gets quite a bit of attention – people are always like, “What did you call him/her?”

Now that I’m a Mom (and totally the pet-name-giving type). I have several nicknames for my daughter Ava Jaclyn. Her primary nickname is Goose or Goosey (a derivative of Silly Goose). She also gets referred to as Baby Girl or AJ. I’m not sure where her pet names were born, but more often than not, they. just. happen. If nothing materializes and you are dying to give your kid a sweet or funny pet name, here is a list of the top 100 Pet Names (or nicknames) to consider for your little girl or boy (not including the basics ones, such as: sweetheart, dear, babe, etc.)

Today I’d like to thank you
For all of the things you do
But most of all I thank you
Just for being you
ALWAYS Having you near me
Makes me glad to know
That you’ll always be here
To watch me change and grow
In my eyes…I hope that you can see
I’m proud to have a Daddy that watches over me
I love it when you kiss me
And hold my tiny hand
I know you’ll guide my footsteps
When I can finally stand
I love it when you smile at me
It makes me laugh out loud
You are what I want to be
And I hope to make you proud
You are the perfect Dad
Kind, gentle and fun
I’m grateful and I’m glad
To have the very best one
Even when I’m grown
And we have to be apart
I’ll cherish the love you give me
From your kind and gentle heart
Daddy I love you
What more can I say?
That I’ll love you more and more
Each and every day!
